In Episode 101 of Mahabharat, the Swayamvar heats up as Karna steps forward, ready to prove his skill and worth. But Dhrishtadyumna halts him, declaring that only those who compete for themselves — not on behalf of others — may take part.
Karna stands tall, defending Duryodhan and his right to marry Draupadi. Duryodhan urges him to lift the bow, to silence all doubters with one arrow.
But just as Karna grips the divine bow, Draupadi raises her voice — "I will not marry a sutaputra!"
The crowd falls silent. Karna freezes. Humiliated, his pride scorched, he steps back, defeated not by the challenge, but by birth and bias.
